Formartine’s Under 18’s secured another convincing victory on Monday evening as they eased passed their Hall Russell United counterparts 9-2.  Captain Kooper Richardson led the way with the opening goal after 6 minutes.  Aaron Buckle intercepted a clearance, found Mitchel Watson, the winger’s 25 yard drive was parried by the Hall Russell keeper, but only into the path of Richardson, who tapped the ball home from 3 yards.

Hall Russell equalised on 16 minutes, but it was short lived after Aaron Buckle scored an excellent individual goal, beating two defenders on the edge of the box, before controlling the ball on his thigh and volleying home a shot from the edge of the box. Formartine further extended their lead three minutes later, when Brody Alberts scored from a free kick on the edge of the box, his low shot evading the diving keeper.  Aaron Buckle was next on the scoresheet as United continued to dominate proceeding’s, further extended Formartine’s lead in the 23rd minute with another powerful drive from the edge of the box, his shot rising over the keeper into the roof of the net.

On 26 minutes Brody Alberts converted a penalty after the striker was brought down in the box. Just before the break Alberts completed his hat-trick after a neat Richardson flick sent the forward in on goal, calmly slotting the ball past the advancing keeper from 12 yards.

Twelve minutes after the interval Mitchel Watson added his name to the scoresheet with a spectacular 25 yard drive that left the Hall Russell keeper with no chance.  Formartine’s eighth came after a fine series of passes on the right side before Sam Thomson was played in by Josh Davidson to calmly slot the ball under the keeper from six yards out.  Formartine’s scoring was completed in the 83rd minute after a long through ball found Brodie Carr clear of the defence with the forward placing the ball into the roof of the net from just inside the box.  As the game entered stoppage time Hall Russell gained a consolation goal on an evening where the visitors dominated the game and earned another high scoring victory to maintain their 100 percent start to the season and remain top of the league on goal difference.
