Activity at North Lodge Park

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2020

There may be no games being played but the lack of match action has meant a flurry of comings and goings at North Lodge Park over the last few months and here is a quick update:

We are delighted to announce the signing of Jonathan Smith from fellow Scottish Highland League club Inverurie Loco Works. Johnny was pleased to sign for the club and said "It's great to finally join the club as i was aware of United's interest in me when i joined Locos from Cove three years ago. I enjoyed my time at Locos and i'm now looking forward to my new career at North Lodge Park"

Paul Lawson added "Jonny is a player i've had my eye on for a long time and once we learned that he could be made availabe to us we moved quickly to bring him to North Lodge Park. He'll add an exciting new dimension to our attacking options once we can resume footballing duties".

Following a reversal of an earlier decision to retire from the game, we can confirm that Gary McGowan has now left the club.

Gary has signed on at reigning North Region Junior champions Banks o'Dee who were cruelly denied a fifth Super League title following the North Region FA's decision to declare the 2019-20 season null and void depsite them being runaway leaders.

Gary, who made 35 appearances and scored 9 goals during his spell at North Lodge Park, leaves with our very best wishes ahead of his move to Spain Park.

We can also annunce that Jordan Leydon has now left the club, Jordan made 25 appearances since signing on at North Lodge Park in March 2019 and scored a total of 5 goals. He moves to Dyce Juniors with all our very best wishes.

We are pleased to anounce that Craig McEwan has decided to commit his future to the club by signing a contract extension. Craig is in his second spell with the club, since we stepped up to senior football, and was delighted to continue his association with the club. His experience and influence is a strong factor within the dressing room and he is a popular figure and liked by all at Pitmedden.

Also signing a contract extension is Conor Gethins who has been at North Lodge Park now since the summer of 2016. The proven goalscorer is another major influencer within the dressing room drawing from his wealth of experience in the Scottish Highland League and Scottish Football Leagues.

The final player to sign a contract extension is tricky playmaker Andrew Greig. Andrew (27) has now amassed 92 appearances and has scored 27 goals in the last 3 years with the club and has put pen to paper signing a long term deal for at least another 3 years.
