Summer signing, Johnny Smith stole the points this afternoon at North Lodge Park but it was not all easy street as Nairn pushed United all the way and were unlucky not to take anything from the game.
United went ahead on 31 minutes when Cole Anderson reacted first in a crowded penalty area. His fierce srike into the back of net was his first goal for the club, United then passed up numerous chances to double their lead and went into the break a goal up.
In the second half play swung in Nairn's favour for large parts as they took control of the play. An equaliser seemed on the cards and it arrived when Callum MacLean prodded home. This made for a frantic finale and as play swung from end of end, Johnny Smith hit the winnner to give the home side maximum points just 3 minutes from the end.
